The magnificent light of the Cape of good hope

Posted on

I’ve been in the most fortunate position of having lived in South Africa for 5 years. During that time, I changed as a person. I became more mature in all aspects. Another thing that changed was my career. Over the course of the 5 years in Stellenbosch, South Africa, I became a photographer.

When I go through my images from that time – most of them have been scanned from trannies (transparency film) – it strikes me time and time again how beautiful the light is in that part of the world. That, for sure, is one thing I miss from my time in the Cape.

This image I took one afternoon, when the sun was setting behind table mountain and illuminated the sky and mountains surrounding Stellenbosch.
